“An interior is an expert blend of elements, emotional intelligence, feelings and thoughts.”

Refined environments are hidden within a modern, typically Italian residence, where sophisticated materials and exclusive products intersect in a play of harmonious contrasts. Bright, airy spaces contain rigorous alignments and soft-lined products, all calibrated by an elegant color palette.

“I wanted to generate emotion at first sight, upon the very first entry into the home,” says architect Anna Iuliano, who oversaw the project.

Walls covered in white boiserie and Calacatta marble surfaces alternate with precious wallpapers featuring geometric patterns. Exquisite fabrics—linens, cottons, velvets, and chenilles—appear as if borrowed from a high-end wardrobe to take the form of sofas, beds, and seating. These soft, high-performance yarns emphasize the comfort of the upholstery, paying homage to sartorial tradition and Italian savoir-faire.

“I liked the clients' starting idea of taking the 'classic'—understood as beauty in a broad sense—and immersing it in a current context, where modern high-tech technologies are hidden behind the richest materials,” the architect adds.

“There is a recurring theme I followed during the design: the sense of the bourgeois room and the tradition of the last century. Memory is found in the serene proportions and the tactile value of materials—be it wood, lacquer, or marble—but it is a memory swept by a contemporary wind, recognizable in the lessons of the great 20th-century interior decorators, leading to precious materials and a search for detail.”

The architect implements a reimagining of the classic style that has evolved over the years, interpreting contemporary aesthetic trends with soft finishes and fine handcrafted decorations in the name of a perfect harmony illuminated by white as the predominant color.

Within a candid white frame of moldings and boiserie, a large living area opens to the visitor, dominated by a grand capitonné sofa crafted in soft silk velvet. Behind it, reflected in a large mirror, stands a contemporary suspended chandelier with a polished brass structure and muffled white cased-glass spheres, customized by the architect. Solid upholstered backrests and perforated frames in champagne leaf follow one another around the Calacatta marble table—a material that finds its maximum application in the kitchen and bathroom.

Bespoke furniture in cream-lacquered wood dialogues in great balance with pieces featuring softer, more striking shapes. Sophisticated white porcelain decorations masterfully adorn sideboards, consoles, and the fireplace.

Patinas, tactile impressions, and scents blend into a syntax of unrepeatable nuances. Then come the colors: vibrations of secret spells, glazes, and almost tactile—as well as visual—alchemies. The custom-made kitchen integrates perfectly into the wide open space, maintaining its privacy while communicating with the rest of the home through stools that echo the design language of the entire house.

Continuing down the corridor, one encounters the guest bathroom, where white boiserie highlights a precious wallpaper with a regimental pattern. Sanitary ware and sinks feature a minimal Empire design made of contemporary materials. Frames and boiserie continue to dress the walls until reaching the master suite, where they conceal wardrobes and doors.

A perfect suite. Two focal points face each other: the imposing capitonné headboard upholstered in velvet and the stylish freestanding bathtub, framed by two large mirrored doors that hide the vanity and shower areas. The boiserie continues around the tub, enriched by handles decorated in champagne leaf, transforming into spacious wardrobes. The same handle is used throughout the house, like a pearl earring that consistently highlights the style of the woman wearing it.
